  • Sand Scratch Swell

    Phenomenon Sanding marks of the previous paint film appear on the new paint film after drying.
    Cause A. Improper preparation of the substrate.
    B. Sanding with too coarse sandpaper.
    C. Sanding undercoat before it thoroughly dried and applying topcoat.
    D. Failure of covering the previous film.
    E. Too thin film thickness.
    Repair Dry the film completely, polish with compound and refinish.
    Prevention A. Use smooth sandpaper.
    B. Cover the previous paint film with primer-surfacer before applying topcoat.
    C. Do not use too slow type thinner.
